Application
Food Industry
Used as a fresh-keeping & color-protecting agent, preservative and antioxidant. Suitable for processing candied fruits, fruits & vegetables, fruit juices, pastries, wine, etc., to inhibit browning and extend shelf life.
Textile Printing and Dyeing
Used as a fabric bleaching agent and post-bleaching dechlorinating agent to improve the color fastness of cotton, linen and other fabrics and protect fibers from chlorine damage.
Water Treatment
Used as a reducing agent for industrial wastewater (reducing hexavalent chromium), deoxidizer for boiler water, and residual chlorine remover in water, reducing the risk of water pollution/equipment corrosion.

Sodium metabisulfite should be stored in a dry, well-ventilated, and clean warehouse, avoiding moisture, heat, and direct sunlight. Common packaging includes woven bags lined with polyethylene plastic bags.
