- In food industry, our food-grade sodium metabisulfite acts as bleaching agent for candy, pastries, yuba and vermicelli. It also serves as preservative and antioxidant for preserved fruits, dried fruits, wine, juice, canned mushrooms and seafood. Besides, it works as leavening agent for baked goods and color fixative to prevent produce browning and retain fresh color.
- Industrial-grade sodium metabisulfite is widely used. It is applied in textile printing and dyeing for bleaching, dechlorination and auxiliary treatment. It also serves for water treatment to remove chlorine and oxygen and treat wastewater. Besides, it can be used as a reducing agent in chemical synthesis, leather processing agent and rubber coagulant.
